Going Green is the Right Thing

Exterior Thursday, January 07, 2010

Forest City is going green! We know it is important to do our part to conserve natural resources. In an attempt to increase your conservation awareness, here are a few simple and effective ideas adopted from the Maui Electric Company, Ltd. Each month we will feature a new series of ideas. Stay posted for the latest information on conservation. You can implement these useful tips right away to reduce your energy consumption.

#1 Open the windows to let Hawaii’s fresh trade winds cool your home instead of using the air conditioner.

#2 Use fans for additional cooling and increased air circulation so you can raise the thermostat and reduce air conditioning use.

#3 Close drapes or blinds before cooling a room to keep the sun’s heat out.

We hope you will do your part to help the environment. To learn more about how to conserve electricity usage, please visit www.mauielectric.com. Remember, it’s the right thing when you go green.
